Ever wanted to dance like the show girls in Vegas? Now is your chance! Included in this session is a jazz dance class to perfect our kick lines and create beautiful formations through stunning choreography.

You will also learn how to put together your very own, gorgeous show girl costume, complete with feathers & rhinestones!

9-weeks of dance classes & a 1-hour costume class for 6-weeks of the session.
Learn costume making techniques for fun and to gain valuable costume making skills for future group or solo performances!
During the costume class, you will be taught how to construct your own costume in sections by our instructor Victoria, working on the costume in class – some homework will be given in this class to continue the costume making process at home as well throughout this session. This costume class is beginner friendly. All are welcome and sewing machines are not needed in this session.

**All materials needed to make the above items are included in your registration fee. There is no extra costume fees for this class.

Items you will need to get on your own:

A nude coloured bra
A nude coloured heel (character shoe or ballroom shoe for example)

*Open Level – Open to any skill level, from absolute beginners to the more advanced dancer. This class is adapted to the skill level of the group.

Showtime – 7:00PM
Tech rehearsal is at 2:00PM same day

Full Session Price = $350.65 +gst

*We have 3 types of payment plans available:

1. Pay in full – $350.65 +gst

2. Pay in two instalments of $175.33 +gst (due at time of registration and on Jan. 15 )

3. Pay in three instalments of $116.89+gst (due at time of registration and on Dec. 8 & Jan. 15)

Meet your Teachers!

Meet Lavender
Prairie Diva Dance Instructor

Lavender is a passionate and encouraging instructor, who joined Prairie Diva in 2021. She teaches burlesque fusion dance classes for all levels of students, and also teaches private lessons for students who want choreography or coaching. She has a special soft spot for beginner students trying out dance for the first time, and wants to share the freedom that can be found in sensual movement. Lavender began her dance training focusing on ballet, and has travelled across North America for her professional training in various dance styles, both classic and commercial, which she uses to create works of all styles and genres, ranging from hip-hop to classic burlesque and almost everything in between! Also a company member of M Funk Dance Productions, you can find her performing and choreographing regularly for Prairie Diva showcases, doing burlesque, musical theatre works, and other dance routines with her fellow company members. Her classes encourage students to grow not only their technical abilities at their own pace, but also explore musicality, stage presence, and developing an artistic voice.

Meet Victoria (Rosé)
Costume Class Instructor

Victoria has been a dancer since the age of four, practicing and performing styles including ballet, jazz, heels, salsa, bachata and burlesque! She has been an M. Funk Dance Productions company member and professional dancer since 2014. She choreographed and performed her first burlesque solo under her stage persona “Rosé” in 2017. She has been bringing her beautiful and creative concepts to the stage ever since. She is known in the burlesque community for her classic vintage elegance and sparkling hand-crafted costumes.

It’s no secret that Victoria is crafty and creative. She designs and creates all of her own costumes as well as frequently repairs and pins the costumes of her fellow company members backstage! Victoria is a self-taught seamstress and talented burlesque costumer. She shares her passion for sewing and costuming with Prairie Diva students in her “Become a Showgirl” and Costume-Making classes. She teaches Prairie Diva students how to make their own well-made and elaborate costumes with simple techniques and accessible materials. Giving them confidence to design and create their own burlesque costumes well after the class costume is complete.

- I acknowledge that there are NO refunds or credits for all dance lessons. At the discretion of Prairie Diva, credit may be given toward future sessions for medical reasons only (with a Doctor’s note).
In the unlikely event that classes or showcases are cancelled by Prairie Diva, a refund for the remaining classes or credit will be offered.

Attendance Policy:*

I acknowledge the following:

- I acknowledge that I am registering for a performance class.
- I understand that attendance throughout the session and at the February 15 performance is very important for both the individual and group's success.
- I am committed to attending all 9 weeks of classes. The only exceptions would be for illness or emergency situations. If I am unable to attend, I will let my instructor know in advance.
- I acknowledge that if I must miss a class, I must learn the choreography in the class missed prior to the next scheduled class, either on my own or purchase a private lesson with my instructor. I acknowledge that each week we will be learning new choreography and spend a short amount of time on reviewing previous choreography.
- I acknowledge that if I must miss a class, I may be exempted from the section of the new choreography learned on the day(s) missed.
- I am available for the tech rehearsal on show day (February 15) at 2:00pm and for the showcase in the evening (call time is 6:45 before doors open for the show).
